The shaft is almost too tight
I am wearing a previous pair of Martinos that have the same sole and heal but a wider shaft and no zipper, the leather is folded a little for a slub effect. They.are the same size and height and I am into the 5th winter wearing them so I knew the quality would be there. The Shield fit the same except the shaft on the Shield is 2 inches narrower. I have wide calves and I can get the zipper done up but barely. I can pull my jeans over top of them instead of tucking them in but I like the look of the slub boots when I can tuck my jeans in. I am happy with the Shield as the style is classic, the sole and heel work with my strange knees and I can use cleats with them (don't like ice). Am glad to have access to these boots as they are made by someone in Canada who understands Canadian winters, it's nice to have warm feet when waiting for a bus. Keep up the quality, it's getting harder to find.
